How to take care of a baby? by ToxicGina on Flickr.
Sorry, this is off topic of Star Wars (and Lego), but it reminded me of a funny story. My great aunt was, sadly, suffering from dementia in her later years. She was over visiting at our house, and my dog was sitting on my lap; my great aunt told me that I had a very cute baby. I thanked her, and just kind of carried on with conversation like it hadn’t been an odd comment. Then, she got up and went to the kitchen - and came back with a banana. She proceeded to try to get my “baby” to take the “bottle” in her hand. My dog, who was not a big fan of bananas, hopped down onto the floor and my aunt chased her down the hall. She found a teddy bear on the bed in the spare room and brought it (and the banana) back to the kitchen. She sat down quite happily in the kitchen, feeding the “bottle” to the new (less wiggly) baby.
As sad as dementia is - and I would never want to make light of it - my great aunt seemed genuinely happy in her own little world. I had always thought of her as a stern, grumpy lady, but my last memories of her are happy ones.
